The National Under-21 National Team kicked off work in the City of Football on Monday by training on the pitch at FPF headquarters.

At the end of the training session and at a press conference, center-back Diogo Leite emphasized the focus on starting qualifying, namely with the games against Gibraltar and Belarus: "Let's look at the opponents. When we know the characteristics of these teams we will try to explore the points less strong to win both games, "he said.

Regarding the group, the left-handed highlighted the determination of the players: "We have positive perspectives, we already know most of the group. We know we have a strong and very united team. This is how we will prepare the qualification," he said.

Diogo Leite also explained the goals for this season: "The goal is to try to score as many points as possible. We will face each game to win. We have a demanding and difficult group. But we are prepared for what comes next," he concluded.

It is recalled that Portugal will start participating in group 7 as early as September 5, in Alverca, against the counterpart of Gibraltar (20:45), facing five days later (September 10) to Belarus, in Zhodino, at 18:00 (in Continental Portugal). Both matches will feature live streaming on Channel 11.
